Summer foot care: 3 DIY recipes for your feet and heels!
Foot care, including the treatment of soles and heels, is just as important as caring for the rest of our body and face. During spring and summer, when our feet are frequently exposed, the need for well-treated feet becomes even greater. We all share the love for DIY skincare recipes that rely on a few, simple and natural ingredients, thus we have compiled our top three recipes for the effective care of your feet and heels. They are easy to make at home, affordable and -above all- promise the best results!
Peeling for very dry skin
We mention frequently that hydration plays a key role to healthy and glowing skin. However, it is also recommended to exfoliate your feet to remove dead cells before moisturizing them. Take advantage of all the beneficial properties of natural ingredients combined with vegetable cosmetic oils by preparing this unique peeling with just 3 ingredients.
You will need 1 tbsp of granulated sugar, 1 tbsp of MACROVITA Avocado Oil and 1 tbsp of MACROVITA Rose Oil. Granulated sugar is a rich source of glycolic acid, one of the most powerful AHAs (exfoliating, alpha-hydroxy acids), thus it will help to remove dead cells. Avocado and rose oils, thanks to their valuable ingredients, will moisturize and revitalize dry skin.
Place the ingredients into a bowl and mix well until the mixture becomes uniform. Next, take a sufficient amount of the mixture and apply it to your feet, moving upwards with circular motions and rubbing gently for a few minutes to avoid irritating your skin. Remove with lukewarm water and wipe your skin thoroughly before applying your moisturization cream. Tip: If you wish, you may apply the mixture to any part of your body, including your face!
Now, it’s time to give your limbs some specialized care if your nails seem to be weak, thin or brittle, and your heels are quite dehydrated and chapped.
Oil for strong nails
For stronger and healthier nails, prepare this highly effective oil in less than 1’. It combines two natural cosmetic oils that contribute to the health and growth of nails. You will need 2 parts of MACROVITA Castor Oil and 1 part of MACROVITA Argan Oil, which you will mix, stirring well. All you have to do is to apply a few drops, massaging over the surface of your nails and cuticles. Leave it on for at least 30’ without wiping it off or washing your hands. For better results, repeat the process daily, morning and evening.
Castor oil will nourish and soften the cuticles, while moisturizing and protecting your nails. On the other hand, argan oil will reconstruct and strengthen your nails. Their combination will delight you as your nails will become less brittle and your pedicure will last longer!
Oil for cracked skin – cracked heels
Dealing with dry, rough or cracked heels? Indulge in the following mixture and – after regular use – you will notice the difference for yourself! You will need 2 parts of MACROVITA Wheat Germ Oil (rich in vitamins E and F, highly nourishing and emollient, helping cracked skin to gain elasticity and become soft), 1 part of MACROVITA Hemp Oil and 1 part of MACROVITA Calendula Oil (their combination will enhance the healing properties of the mixture and help to regenerate the area).
Start by mixing all the oils together and stirring well. Then, apply a sufficient amount to the areas of the body where the skin is cracked, insisting especially on the soles of your feet. Do not wipe off until it is fully absorbed. For even better results, apply it in the evening and leave it on overnight. Certainly, you may repeat the process as often as you wish and for as long as needed.
