Freckles, spots and skin discolorations are fairly common dermatological problems. They are skin pigmentation disorders due to the proliferation of melanocytes. Melanocytes contain an enzyme called tyrosinase, which is activated mainly through solar radiation, leading to the formation of melanin, responsible for the desired summer tan. However, when the activation of tyrosinase takes place only locally (mainly on the face, decollete and hands), “unaesthetic” discolorations appear.
The causes of skin discolorations vary, always depending on the human system. Nevertheless, in most cases, the main reasons are solar radiation, hormonal factors, the use of perfumes or other irritating cosmetics, and finally, the existence of skin wounds.
Along with your classic skin care routine (e.g., cleansing, moisturizing, etc.), you should also apply a specialized product, which will help to reduce discolorations and restore skin’s color uniformity. This product is called: lightening cream.
Lightening cream isn’t a common face cream. It contains agents with targeted action to enhance skin’s radiance (bearberry and mulberry), antioxidants to protect against the harmful effects of solar radiation (vitamin E and C) and ingredients that inhibit the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase and, therefore, the excess melanin production (western dock). Exfoliating agents are also necessary so as to make discolorations’ lightening visible more quickly. Fruit acids (AHA) are the most popular and effective exfoliating agents, proven to promote smoother skin and youthful appearance, increasing the rate of renewal of cells. Finally, a lightening cream must necessarily contain sun filters, for preventive reasons, to effectively block the ultraviolet rays, that activate the unwanted process of melanogenesis.
You will find all these properties concentrated into the Lightening Cream SPF15 MACROVITA with bearberry & mulberry, which gradually softens discolorations, protects against the creation of new ones, and helps the skin to acquire and maintain its youthful appearance and glow!
To avoid the appearance or the worsening of discolorations, keep in mind the following tips:
Daily sun protection: Sunscreen must be used daily, all year round. Remember to apply it 15’ before sun exposure and reapply throughout the day as needed.
Use of hat and sunglasses: If you wish to adequately protect your skin, don’t neglect them!
